More Than Medals America Camp Helps Prepare, Motivate Athletes From 11 South American Countries

United World Wrestling's More than Medals America Camp was recently held in Manaus, Brazil, with athletes and coaches from 11 South American countries participating. 

Over eight days, coaches and athletes lived and trained together in the Olympic Training Centre of Manaus. In addition to the training sessions, there were educational activities were such as anti-doping and Olympic values workshops, as well as cultural activities among other things. 

"Opportunities like the More than Medals Camp are very useful for the preparation and the motivation of athletes like me and we are very grateful for it," said Benedith Olber of Honduras, who will be participating in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

More Than Medals is a United World Wrestling initiative to deliver wrestling technique, life skills and experiences to athletes from developing nations and wrestling programs.
