CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland (April 7) – United World Wrestling has signed a two-year sponsorship deal with sports nutrition company MusclePharm. The deal, which comes a few months after the federation’s partnership with mat-provider Taishan, is part of the organization’s ongoing process to increase the commercial presence of the sport.

“United World Wrestling is proud to partner with MusclePharm. They are a leader in the nutrition industry because they maintain rigorous quality standards and show a commitment to athletes,” said United World Wrestling’s President Nenad Lalovic. “The focus of this partnership is to improve the education of wrestlers when it comes to nutrition. We want our athletes informed about safe solutions to making weight and the use of supplements.”

Through their Sports Science Institute, MusclePharm products adhere to a six-stage research process. As a part of its rigorous quality control process, INFORMED CHOICE certifies that all of MusclePharm’s products are free of banned substances.

"We are proud to be the official sponsor of United World Wrestling organization and believe that our commitments to excellence and quality are aligned,” said Brad Pyatt, President and CEO of MusclePharm. “To be the supplement provider for athletes around the globe for one of the most marquee sports in the Olympic movement demonstrates our commitment to providing athletes with quality, transparent and secure solutions.”

“Our sport needs partners who will play an integral part of improving the sport of wrestling,” said Lalovic. “MusclePharm has proven experience with nutritional supplements and we were impressed that their strategy is based on education and giving athletes the best product. We’ve also been assured that MusclePharm will abide to the WADA code.”
