Corsier-sur-Vevey, SWITZERLAND (November 18) – Turkey’s Samil ERDOGAN (TUR) has been suspended from all United World Wrestling competitions for two years following his positive test result for the banned anabolic steroid Stanozolol.
Erdogan, who previously failed his “A” sample was informed by United World Wrestling that “B” sample has come back positive. The test was administered by United World Wrestling at the Wrestling World Championship in Tashkent.
With this confirmation, and per United World Wrestling’s anti-doping rules, Erdogan must return his bronze medal to United World Wrestling and will be suspended from competition for two years: 6 October 2014 to 5 October 2016. As a result of the positive test Erdogan’s bronze medal points are removed from 2014 World Championship results table.
